A quotation turns a budget into a priced proposal for your client. Pick a budget, choose what to show, and send it out for approval or signing.

Create

  1. Open the budget and choose Documents, or go to Quotations in the sidebar and choose New quotation.
  2. Choose the budget the quotation is based on and a quotation template.
  3. Decide what the client sees: the level of detail (totals per phase, per category, or every line), the sales prices, the additional costs and the discounts.
  4. Write or load the text: an introduction, the assumptions, the terms. Templates can hold default texts and reusable snippets, and you can add sections of your own.
  5. Save. The quotation is a Draft.

Send and follow

Print the quotation as PDF or send it from Tubes. Its status moves from Draft to Sent, and to Signed when the client has signed, or Expired when the validity date passes. An administrator can add statuses under Settings > Quotation statuses.

Signing

Switch Signing on for a quotation to have the client sign it digitally through DocuSign or DocuSeal. The signed document is returned to the project. See Digital signing with DocuSign or DocuSeal.

Translate a quotation

Tubes can translate the text of a quotation into another language with AI. The translation is a job that runs in the background; check the result before sending, and keep a debug report if something looks off.

Quotation numbers

A quotation gets a number when you give it one; the field is optional. Use your own numbering or let Tubes count.

Tip: A quotation is a document derived from the budget. Change the budget and create a new quotation rather than editing amounts in the quotation, so both always match.
