From budget to cost control on the same lines
Every budget in Tubes is built the same way, section by section, and then keeps working after approval: purchase orders, invoices and actuals land on the same lines, so the cost report compares against the budget you actually approved.
This free builder covers the first step. When you want the rest, the Excel it exports opens in Tubes as is.
Questions about this tool
Do I need an account?
No. You can build, import and export a budget without one; it stays in this browser. An account is only needed to save versions and open them elsewhere. You can log in before you start, halfway or at the end.
What does an account store?
Your email address, a password (stored as a hash, never readable) and the versions you save: up to ten versions of one budget, each up to 2,000 lines. The data sits on the Tubes server in the EU. Delete a version or ask us to remove the account at any time.
Which formats can I import?
A Movie Magic Budgeting export (.xlsx, with its Topsheet, Categories and Account Details sheets), and any budget as Excel or CSV with a code, description and amount per line. Sections come from headings, a section column or the topsheet.
How does the Excel export look?
Like the export from Tubes: a title and summary, a table with Type, Description, Remarks, Qty, Unit, Price per unit and Budget Total, a row per section, formulas for the totals and a second sheet with totals per section.
Are prices or sales included?
No. This tool covers the cost side only. Quotations, sales prices and margins are part of Tubes itself.
