A forecast shows the production as it is now. A snapshot keeps the forecast as it was, so that next week you can see what moved.

Create a snapshot

  1. Open the Forecast of the project.
  2. Choose Create Snapshot.
  3. Give it a name and notes, for example "Week 3, after the recce" and why the catering line went up.

The snapshot stores budget, cost to date, committed, ETC and EFC for every cost type at that moment.

Compare snapshots

Choose two snapshots (or a snapshot and now) and compare. The comparison shows the delta EFC per cost type and category, so you see where the expected final cost moved and by how much. The cost type detail of a snapshot is available too.

Trend

With several snapshots, the forecast shows a trend of cost to date and EFC over time. "Not enough history yet" means you need at least two snapshots.

Delete

A snapshot can be deleted; it does not affect the live forecast.

Tip: Make a snapshot at fixed moments: at publication, at the start of the shoot, every reporting week, at wrap. Regular intervals make the trend readable.
