The financing of a production lives on the budget, on the Financing tab.

Financing entries

Choose Add Financing for each source of money. An entry has:

  • a category: Lead Producer(s), Co-producers, Broadcaster Contribution, Subsidies & Funds, Regional Funds, Pre-sales or Other (an administrator can add categories);
  • a contribution type (cash, in kind, deferral, and so on);
  • the financier, from the involved companies;
  • the confirmed amount or confirmed percentage.

The Financing Summary adds it up against the budget and shows Remaining to be financed.

Tranches

Open a financing entry and choose Add tranche to plan the expected payments: date and amount per tranche. When the money arrives, mark the tranche as received. The entry shows "planned in tranches", what has come in, and the next expected tranche.

Cashflow

The Cashflow tab of the budget shows money in from financing tranches and money out from committed costs with a date. Invoices join once they carry payment dates. The chart shows the balance over time and where the next tranche is needed. "No dated tranches or committed costs yet" means you have to plan tranches and give your committed costs a date first.

A stakeholder account sees the same picture rolled up over every connected company. See Portfolio view for stakeholders.

Tip: Financing categories and contribution types are lists under Settings. Match them to the categories your funds use in their finance plans, so the summary can be copied into an application.
