Film and TV incentive in Austria
Austria runs the FISA+ (Filmstandort Austria): a cash rebate worth Up to 30% (35% with Green Bonus). A payment on approved local spend, usually claimed after delivery or in stages. What matters is the queue: most cash rebates run from an annual budget.

What this means for the cashflow
There is an annual pot and a queue. Applying early in the year matters, and a full pot can push a production to the next round. The production carries the gap until the money arrives, and that is a financing question rather than a budget line.

The detail
A non-repayable grant, not a tax credit. Base rate is up to 30% of eligible costs (the assessment base is itself capped at 80% of total production cost). A Green Bonus for sustainable production adds up to 5 points, and a separate flat EUR 25,000 bonus is available for meeting female head-of-department targets. Fees paid to foreign cast or crew under Austrian withholding tax count for only 50% of the Austria-taxable amount. Current guidelines run from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.

FISA+ processing document 2026 (Excel). Mandatory workbook with the cost calculation, filed through the aws Fördermanager; the same file is used for the final settlement. German language, about 7 MB.
